SWEET, SWEET VICTORY! CONGRATULATIONS GIANLUCA SANTONI

Gianluca Santoni’s directorial debut attains the “Uno sguardo sul futuro” Special Jury Mention — a look towards the future. And thus we thank and wish Gianluca the best directorial future that is to come! As always, a big thank you to Nightswim, Ines Vasiljevic and Stefano Sardo, for involving Sajama Films in the realisation of this picture. The prize is awarded to the best first feature for all films within and without the main selection present at the Alice Nella Città section of the Rome International Film Festival. The Jury is composed by director Concita de Gregorio, journalist Paola Natalicchio, director Francesca Mazzoleni (Punta Sacra, Supersex), Italian pop musician Noemi, and director Michela Cescon.

Their motivation statement reads the following:

“For leaving such an important mark already, for the framing that denotes a clearly identifiable style and auteurship in respect to the tradition of Italian Cinema; the Hollywood Reporter special mention “A Look Towards the Future” goes to Gianluca Santoni for ‘Io e Il Secco’. Best wishes to him in the continuation of his journey, and we warmly await in anticipation, his next directorial steps.”
