After undergoing a heart transplant surgery that has definitively compromised her fencing career, Emma searches for the parents of her anonymous donor, Irene. At first reluctant to meet her, Cesare and Mira gradually welcome the girl into their lives. But even with Irene’s heart, Emma will find it difficult to replace their late daughter; as the increasingly disquieting and exigent nature of her newfound parents questions her very own identity. Is renouncing oneself the ultimate cost for love and acceptance?

Gianclaudio Cappai is an auteur at the heart, his stories are inspired through a novel and bespoke narrative approach. He debuts in 2006 with the short film «Purchè lo Senta Sepolto», awarded at the 24th Torino Film Festival and nominated at the Nastro D’Argento in 2007. His second extended short-film «So Che c’è un Uomo» premieres at the 66th Venice Film Festival. In 2016, he presents his feature-length directorial debut «Senza Lasciare Traccia», a neo-noir starring Michele Riondino, Valentina Cervi, Vitaliano Trevisan, and Elena Radonicich. The film has since garnered positive critical and popular acclaim. The film is also co-authored by Lea Tafuri and Anna Giurickovic-Dato.
